Peter, Grimethorpe

When I moved to Barnsley in autumn 2021, I became aware of The Cellar Thieves initially through local Open Mic sessions around the town, I am a poet. Enjoying the individual performances of John Fuller and Karen Greenbank at these sessions I started to attend some of their gigs with friends. I was immediately impressed with their talents, John is an excellent and versatile musician and Karen has a beautiful voice and developed as a musician very quickly. We are very lucky in Barnsley as there are a number of excellent bands active in the area, but The Cellar Thieves had something extra above their musicianship and voice. Their ability to quickly build rapport with the audience whatever the venue, small intimate parties to noisy town centre pubs. I became a fan and still follow them to this day. When I became involved in my local village fete in 2023 I did not hesitate to recommend The Cellar Thieves to headline the event. Their performance was the talk of the village, for all the right reasons, and they were the first choice when planning for the 2024 event, where I am sure they will work their magic again. I’ve just been to see The Cellar Thieves - a fabulously talented multi instrumental duo that blend several genres of music into their own very distinctive style. They combine classic songs from folk to punk with a mix of their own beautifully crafted tracks. Superb vocals from Karen a very accomplished ukulele player & incredible versatility from John who plays acoustic, lead, bass & steel guitar along with mandolin & flute. I definitely recommend seeing these guys , it’s a great show that leaves the audience with a great feel good feeling.

Lyn, Wakefield

Great music, and definitely something for everyone. I would recommend going to see this duo, and get them booked in!
