Born in Newcastle & Leeds, formed in 2019 in Barnsley, Cellar Thieves are an Acoustic/Electric 2 piece band writing songs inspired by their varied musical influences, including Folk, New Wave, Rock and influential song writers from across the decades.
Their sound is very individual as the Rhythm is often driven by the combination of the Ukulele's and acoustic guitars, over layed with melodies and riffs on Electric guitars, flute and traditional string instruments,
The powerful vocals of Karen Greenbank and the range of instruments played gives the band the ability to drop into any genre and style of music, this sometimes makes the band hard to pigeonhole but easy to fit into any festival line up.
Having set off from humble beginnings at acoustic/open Mike nights in the Yorkshire area and then on to the pub circuit, Cellar Thieves have started to receive recognition on the original music scene following the release of their first album Mind the steps, a tribute to the disappearing live music venues through the COVID-19 period.
Independent radio play and interviews, along with an ITV appearance on This Morning in support of their partner charity "Pigs in the Wood", pig rescue has given them some focus on progressing the project further.
Look out for them at Festivals and venues near you.
